Blog-Off For Breast Cancer: Part 2

A few weeks ago I posted an idea for a Blog-Off For Breast Cancer and the response was amazing.

It’s getting down to crunch time and I’m looking to get started, but I’d love to see a few more people in it!

Here’s how it works. After paying the $10 entry free, each person picks one topic they’d like to post on. This way every person has at least one week in a comfort zone, provided they’re still in the competition the week that their topic was selected. Topic ideas should be a one-word, relatively vague topic. Some examples could be: love, music, dogs, orange, etc.

Each week, on a pre-determined date, everyone will post their Blog-Off posts. Then two days later (to give everybody enough time to read the posts), there will be a vote to determine the favorite post on that week’s topic. Each person will have three votes. Their favorite post will earn three points, their second favorite will earn two points and your third choice gets a single vote. The person with the least amount of votes will be eliminated from the competition and we move on to the next topic.

There aren’t going to be a lot of restrictions on post content. The only thing that immediately comes to mind is photo posts. I would like each post to be more substantial than a photograph. I think a 50 word minimum is reasonable.

At the end, the final person standing wins half the pot (hence the reason for the entry fee) and the other half goes towards my fundraising for The 3 Day Walk.

I’m excited! Leave a comment with a valid email address if you’re interested and I’ll get the rest of the details to you in a jiffy. If you’re not interested in participating, you can still help out by posting about this to get the word out or by making a general donation.

**Edit:: An added bonus is the traffic. You’re guaranteed the hits from your fellow participants. And yes, once all the entrants are paid up and confirmed, I’ll publish a list of contestants on the site here.
